Alien VS Predator: ReqiuemThe first Alien V Predator film may have suffered its fair share of criticism, but it had certainly proved profitable enough for 20th Century Fox to warrant a sequel. Picking up immediately after the events of the previous film, the predators have problems with a rogue alien hybrid on board their ship, which causes it to crash back on Earth close to a town in the Colorado hills.

With the alien facehuggers escaping into the countryside and the new alien creature on the loose, its down to the Predators to try and clean up the mess and cover up what's happened. However, it doesn't take long for the facehuggers to find fresh victims and fairly soon there's fully grown Aliens running amok in the nearby town.

With the towns power supply knocked out, following an unfortunate incident at the nearby plant between the Predator and Aliens, and the roads out of town blocked with panicking residents trying to escape, things look grim for a small band of survivors, lead by the local Sheriff (John Ortiz) and a young female soldier (Reiko Aylsworth), who're trying to escape amongst the ensuing chaos.

Overall, this is a great improvement over the first AVP film, the action kicks off pretty much from the start and the fast pacing stays fairly constant throughout. Some of the more memorable scenes include a detachment of National Guard soldiers being decimated by the Aliens, who then go on to wipe out a maternity ward in a nearby hospital (great stuff).

My only minor criticism would be that the fight between the National Guardsmen and aliens was way too brief, however the film more than made up for this during the climatic scene at the end as the survivors try and fight their way past multiple aliens to try and get to safety.

Overall Marks : 7/10.
