When a young
couple go looking for a shooting star, that appears to have landed in a field just outside of town, they are
surprised to discover a huge, futuristic big-top stuck out in the middle of nowhere...
Shortly afterwards, the local police station is flooded with calls about giant clowns running amok, shooting townsfolk with popcorn bazookas, turning them into giant candy floss cocoons and carting them off in undersize clown cars.
(Un)suprisingly, the town's Police Cheif, Officer Mooney (John Vernon) is very dismissive of these bizarre reports. But fellow officer Dave Hanson feels obliged to check them out. Whereupon he discovers that the emergency calls he's been receiving about these "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" are in fact all very true.
Hooking up Mike and Debbie, the young couple who first discovered the Klowns circus spaceship, and a couple of idiotic ice cream sellers known as the Terenzi brothers, they head on over to the klowns spaceship to try put a stop to the carnage, as the klowns continue to carve a path of mayhem through the town.
As the title suggests, this is not the sort of film to be taken seriously. Killer glove puppet shows, killer popcorn, killer shadow puppets, etc etc. If your a fan of horror comedies, and B-movies you'll absolutely love it.
